Despite losses by most of the individual sectors, the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange closed the trading week, Thursday with modest gains. Rising seven tenths of a percent were the TA Composite Index at 1,228.31, the TA 100 at 1,225.34 and the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues at 1,323.69. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,068.99, down .54 percent.
Leading the gainers was the communications index, which climbed 1.26 percent to 746.72, while the insurance issues stood at 1,424.87, up .06 percent, as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,203.73 down .21 percent, including a drop of .63 to 1,241.49 by the bank stocks. The oil and natural-gas index slipped .08 percent to 1,272.82, while the real-estate issues stood at 377.10, down .22 percent. The biomed stocks fell.64 percent to 1,139.53 and the rest of the technology index stood at 356.53, down .69 percent.
