Noble Energy, the United States based company that runs the Tamar natural gas field off the coast of Israel, has signed a deal to supply gas to Jordanian companies. Announced on Wednesday, the agreement marks Jordan as the first country to receive natural gas from Israel. The Arab Potash company and the Jordan Bromine company will receive the supply. The contract is for 15 years and revenues are expected to be at least 500 million US dollars.
Most of the gas, located off the coast of Haifa, will be used within Israel for domestic energy use.
