Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange showed slight gains at the start of trading on Tuesday. About half an hour into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,222.72, up .06 percent from Monday's close, while the same percentage increase meant a posting of 1,220.54 for the TA 100, including a rise of .04 percent to 1,320.28 for the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,070.58, up .05 percent.
Leading the gainers was the communications index, which advanced .52 percent to 733.89, followed by the oil and natural-gas issues, which stood at 1,285.66, up .49 percent. The biomed stocks rose .36 percent to 1,154.62, while the rest of the technology index stood at 357.04, down .07 percent. The financial institutions gained .15 percent to 1,217.59; the bank issues standing at 1,266.67, up .14 percent, while the insurance stocks stood at 1,428.20, up .11 percent, and the real-estate index edged up .01 percent to 379.99.
