      High Court Rejects Petition to Uproot Sussia Vineyards


      The Supreme Court rejected, Sunday, a petition by Palestinian Authority Arabs asking the Israeli government to uproot vineyards planted by Jews next to the southern Hevron Hills community of Sussia. The Arabs claimed the vineyard constituted a disruptive land use.

      The court ruled the Arabs did not present sufficient proof of ownership of the land in question. The judges also rejected a petition to declare the vineyard a closed military zone as a measure to keep the Jews from having access to the vineyards.
