Expected Approval for Tax Breaks for Southern Israeli Communities

The Israeli government is expected today (Sunday) to approve tax breaks to 230 new communities, bringing the total up to 419 communities.

Following Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's intervention, it was decided to update Minister of Finance Yair Lapid's (Yesh Atid) initial proposal and to give priority to those communities within a two kilometer distance from a border with a country with whom there was no peace treaty, such as Lebanon or Syria.
