      Jordan's Abdullah to Discuss Israel-PA Talks with Obama


      King Abdullah II of Jordan is scheduled to meet with President Barack Obama of the United States on Friday in California and a spokesman for the Jordanian Foreign Ministry says the agenda will include the possible repercussions of a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinian Authority on his country, according to a Thursday-evening report by the Washington Post. A cross section of Jordanian society is warning the king and his government to refuse any peace plan that does not satisfy what Jordan calls its “highest interests,” namely the issue of the rights of Arabs who left Israel when the modern Jewish state was born.

      Reflecting concern that the U.S. will pressure Jordan to naturalize all the Land of Israel Arabs on its soil and take in those now living under far worse conditions in Lebanon and Syria, Jordan’s lower house of parliament issued a statement last week rejecting Israel’s demand to be recognized as a "Jewish state".
