MK Gal-On Rebuts MK Wortzman on Anti-Israeli Film

Chairwoman Zahava Gal-On of the leftist Meretz party criticized Deputy Education Minister Avi Wortzman, Thursday evening, for his announcement that he would act to cancel a decision to allow the screening in schools of the controversial film "5 Broken Cameras", which depicts the struggle of  Palestinian Authority residents against the Samaria (Shomron) security fence about halfway between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Wortzman cited the film's incitement against Israeli troops.

Gal-On said, "If Wortzman would watch the movie before responding, he would discover that the movie was very appropriate, and what is not appropriate for education in Israel is the humiliating reality it documents in the territories, which is being carried out in the service of Wortzman's Party and its messianic visions."
