Research Conferences on Effects of Disengagement

Surprising at it may sound, eight and a half years following the Disengagement, there has not yet been a meaningful study into the effects following the uprooting of the Gush Katif community, and in a few days there will be a first-of-its-kind conference taking place to deal with exactly this subject.

At the end of this month at the University of Ariel, there will be a conference - the first of its kind - dealing with the Disengagement and the many facets its effect.

Arutz Sheva spoke with the project director, Dr. Ron Schleifer, who heads Ariel Center for Security and Communications.  Dr. Shleifer commented, among other things, that to implement the Disengagement required taking many factors into consideration, except for consideration of the people most affected - those who lived there.
