Beit Shemesh Elections to Take Place in March

MInister of the Interior Gidon Sa'ar (Likud Beytenu) announced today (Tuesday) that the repeat elections for Beit Shemesh will be taking place March 11, 2014.

In response to the Supreme Court's decision to reject the appeal of the city of Nazareth, who said they were being subjected to repeat elections only because the Court had approved the repeat elections in Beit Shemesh, MK Yakov Asher (United Torah Judaism) commented, "Who says politics only takes place in the Knesset?"

Deputy Minister of Transportation, Tzipi Hotovely (Likud) commented, "I welcome the ruling of a court that sends a daunting message out there about maintaing the integrity of elections. Thanks to the Court's decision, it makes it clear that elections take place under the watchful eye of the law, and that anyone who wishes to participate in the democratic selection process will have to play according to the rules."
