Police: Setting Fire to Patrol Car Crossed the Line

Police are taking the demonstrations of the followers of Rabbi Auerbach very seriously. In a discussion between police officials and functionaries of the hareidi community, they stated that the setting fire of a police patrol car during the demonstrations had crossed the line.

The talks between the hareidi leaders and authorities took place as a result of the arrest of a kashrut supervisor from Bnei Brak was in Ashdod for work, and who, by witness accounts, requested to cross the road in his vehicle, but was prevented from doing so by the demonstrating crowds. A police officer waved him on, but this was delayed for unclear reasons, and the officer arrested him, claiming charges of "obstruction of justice".
