MK Ayelet Shaked (Jewish Home), who heads the Knesset committee that is drafting the new draft law, on Friday criticized the timing of the Supreme Court's decision regarding cutting the budgets of yeshivas whose students evade draft.
In an interview with Kol Yisrael radio, Shaked said that the decision was like "a match which ignited an unnecessary fire". She stressed that the new draft law does not include criminal penalties against draft evaders in the first 4 years, only economic sanctions.
