Police Commissioner Yohanan Danino said on Thursday that Menashe Arbiv, the officer who is suspected of receiving bribes from Rabbi Yoshiyahu Pinto, should be given a chance to defend himself.
Speaking to the “Uvda” program which airs on Channel 2, Danino said, "I think everyone who is dealing with the matter - the Internal Investigations Department, the State Attorney, and the Attorney General - must give Arbiv the opportunity to defend himself as soon as possible.”
Danino added that Arbiv has been at home for three weeks and is in great distress. "He reads about the serious allegations, he is climbing the walls. He’s claiming that this is a false accusation. At least give him the basic opportunity to prove what he’s saying.”
