Member of Knesset Dov Lipman (Yesh Atid) praised the sense of unity he experienced during the visit to the Auschwitz concentration camp last week. Speaking to Arutz Sheva - Israel National Radio, he stated, "one of the things I've learned in my year at the Knesset is that all of us are very quick to put aside political difference when there is something to unite about. It happens regularly in the Knesset about legislation and joint committees. Both on the flight to Poland and during the day, there was no talk of the coalition or the opposition or this party or that party. There was tremendous derech eretz and that was not a surprise to me at all," he stated.
MK Lipman was one of the sixty Members of Knesset with visited the site of the Auschwitz death camp in what was then Nazi occupied Poland. Twenty-four Holocaust survivors attended the trip as well as family members and other Israeli public figures. The trip coincided with the 69th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.
