Rapid Urbanization Affected Ancient Akko

The effects of rapid urbanization on the environment is an ancient phenomenon and not just a modern one, according to a new research study published in the prestigious Scientific Reports. Prof. Michal Artzi and Dr. Dov Zviely of the Leon Recanati Institute for Maritime Studies at Haifa University published the new report in the Nature Publishing Group's scientific journal. It stated that 4,000 years ago in the Israeli city of Akko, urban development caused drastic effects on the ecological environment.
