Dani Dayan, who heads the diplomatic branch of the Yesha Council of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, made it clear, Monday, that the uprooting of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria (Shomron) and the establishment of a Palestinian Authority (PA) state are destructive and will block any chance of returning later. Addressing the 11th Jerusalem Conference, he said the new state would bring in half a million "refugees" and make the task impossible.
Dayan said, "If there was a chance for peace between Israel and the Palestinians, the Oslo Accords ruined this chance for at least two generations." He said one generation has already passed and been wasted due to talks that could not succeed because of the PA insistence on the return of the "refugees". He said it is delaying peace for another generation because with every passing year another year is needed to sober up from the illusions that Oslo created.
Dayan called Judea and Samaria the heart of the homeland and the essence of the Jewish state.
