The Joint Defense Budget Committee of the Knesset Finance Committee and the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee held a closed-door session, Sunday, on the Israel Defense Forces's work plan for 2014. During the meeting, military leaders asked for a budget increase.
The committee is expected to approve the work plan on Tuesday. It already includes an increase of 2.75 billion shekels ($786 million) which was approved by the Finance Committee and the security cabinet. The increase will bring the defense budget to NIS 64 billion ($18.3 billion).
