      Yen, US Dollar Up; Shekel, Euro, Pound Down

      The official value of the shekel slipped an average of .019 percent, Thursday, in mixed trading against the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.492, up .057 percent from Wednesday's rate, while the Euro declined .204 percent to 4.7492 shekels.

      The pound sterling was set at 5.7575 shekels, down .312 percent, while 100 Japanese yen rose .383 percent to NIS 3.4807. The Australian dollar rose .219 percent to NIS 3.062, while its Canadian counterpart was fixed at 3.1225 shekels, down .24 percent, and the South African rand fell 1.054 percent to .3099 shekels.
