Deputy Religious Services Minister Rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan eulogized Tatiana Edelstein, wife of Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein, on his Facebook page on Friday afternoon.
"Even though I did not know Tatiana Edelstein personally, I heard about her inspiring work. Many in her generation who immigrated from the Soviet Union maintained their Judaism even during communist rule, struggled to make aliyah and, as soon as they could, went to Israel to build the State of Israel," he wrote.
"We all have to be full of praise for this generation and learn from their devotion, sacrifice and love of their country. Yuli and I we worked together for many years on the subject of conversion, and I'm here at his late wife's funeral to express my sorrow. Baruch Dayan Emet," wrote Rabbi Ben-Dahan.
