IAEC Asks for More Funds, Manpower for Iran Inspections

The head of the UN atomic watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEC), has called upon member states today (Friday) to help pay for an increase in the inspector workload in Iran due to its task of verifying the implementation of the recent agreement reached between Iran and the world powers, according to a report by Reuters.

Yukia Amano, director of the IAEC said that the agreement was an “important step forward towards achieving a comprehensive solution” to the 10-year-old nuclear dispute with Iran, “but there is still a long way to go.”
