      Pro-Morsi Demonstrations Expected in Egypt

Xinhua reports Egypt's National Alliance to Support Legitimacy, a pro-ousted president Mohamed Morsi coalition, called for 18 days of protests as of Friday to mark the fourth anniversary of the January 25 uprising that removed president Hosni Mubarak in 2011.

In a statement on Wednesday, says Xinhua, the Muslim Brotherhood-led alliance called on the people to take to the main squares across the country till February 11, the day when Mubarak stepped down after massive protests for 18 days in the country against his 30- year rule.

The alliance, from which Morsi hails, said the planned protests aim at toppling the "military rule."

The statement sent several messages to the police and the armed forces not to use weapons against the protesters and to stay away from the party interests, adds Xinhua.
