A-G Rejects Appeals of New Beit Shemesh Vote

Attorney General Yehudah Weinstein rejected, Tuesday, appeals against a district-court ruling that calls for new elections for mayor and city council in Beit Shemesh, west of Jerusalem. The court order came following an investigation into irregularities in the voting.

Weinstein felt that the court order would remain intact. It has been appealed to the Supreme Court by the mayor and a small party that won a council seat in the election.
