While the bond market closed in the positive column, shares on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange suffered modest losses on Sunday. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,239.29, down .54 percent, while the TA 100 declined .57 percent to 1,237.05, including a drop of .51 percent to 1,342.09 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,078.95, down .35 percent.
Worst hit was most of the technology index, which fell .91 percent to 361.78, while the biomed issues stood at 1,167.32, down .13 percent. The real-estate stocks lost eight tenths of a percent to close at 383.04, and the financial institutions finished the first day of the trading week at 1,246.95, down .76 percent, the bank index declining .73 percent to 1,283.78, while the insurance issues closed at 1,521.08, down .44 percent. The oil and natural-gas stocks fell .72 percent to 1,285.91 while the communications index ended the day at 727.67, down .59 percent.
