Member of Knesset Danny Danon (Likud Beytenu) said, Thursday, "We will stay forever in the Jordan Valley - and whoever thinks otherwise has no place in the Likud." Speaking at a Jordan Valley tree planting ceremony for the Tu B'Shvat Jewish New Year for the Trees, attended by hundreds of party members, the World Likud Chairman added, "We have already seen that when [we] uproot communities, [we] get missiles [launched at us]. If we're not here, Hamas will be here." In a Hebrew play on words, he said, "In place of saplings (shtilim), thre will be missiles (tilim)."
The deputy defense minister continued, "I must say this clearly, even if it is not nice for the American administration to hear, only an Israeli presence in the field, settlers and soldiers, will stop terror. Neither satellites, sensors nor cameras will replace our grasp in the field."
