Polish Gentile Who Rescued Jewish Refugees Honored

The Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum and research institute will hold a special commemoration in memory of Maria Zurawska, officially naming her "Righteous Among the Nations."

Zurawska rescued three Jewish refugees in Nazi occupied Poland during World War II, risking her own life in the process. The ceremony will be held Thursday in Jerusalem at the Yad Vashem museum. Both her relatives and those of the refugee she saved will be present as well as the Polish Ambassador to Israel and others.
