      2013 Budget Deficit 27% Lower than First Thought


      The deficit in the state budget for 2013 finished at 33. 2 billion shekels ($9.5 billion), according to a preliminary estimate, released Tuesday by the Ministry of Finance.

      The original deficit was expected to be NIS 45.65 billion ($13.05 billion). The state took in 5.7 billion shekels ($1.6 billion) more than expected and spent NIS 6.7 billion ($1.9 billion) less than expected.
