The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange started the trading week, Sunday, with modest to moderate gains. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,228.92, up .72 percent, while the TA 100 rose seven tenths of a percent to 1,226.70, including a gain of .51 percent to 1,330.92 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,067.40, up 1.06 percent.
Leading the sectors was the biomed index, which climbed 1.69 percent to 1,122.43, while the rest of the technology index stood at 355.87, up seven tenths of a percent, and the communications stocks advanced 1.2 percent to 757.70. The insurance index stood at 1,534.06, up .81 percent as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,260.97, up .49 percent, including a gain of .13 percent to 1,292.27 by the bank issues. The real-estate stocks closed at 386.98, up .68 percent, while the oil and natural-gas index rose .37 percent to 1,290.05.
