Shamir: Bedouin Should Receive the Same Services

Agriculture Minister Yair Shamir said on Monday that Bedouin communities in the Negev should receive all the services that Israeli citizens are entitled to be given by the state. Speaking to Kol Yisrael radio, Shamir said that if there are Bedouin communities that are not recognized by the state, steps should be taken to remedy that situation.

Shamir has been appointed by the government to handle the regulation of the Bedouin settlements in the Negev, after the Prawer Law was placed on hold. On Tuesday, Shamir will visit the communities in question.
