Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Monday-morning trading with modest losses. About 20 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,207.79, down .22 percent, while the same percentage loss meant a posting of 1,206.03 for the TA 100, including a drop of .45 percent to 1,317.49 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,048.14, down .26 percent.
Leading the gainers was most of the technology index, which rose three tenths of a percent to 350.00, while the biomed issues stood at 1,060.97, up .26 percent. The oil and natural-gas stocks edged up .11 percent to 1,266.43, while the real-estate index stood at 381.69, down .26 percent. The communications issues declined .31 percent to 752.35 and the financial institutions stood at 1,255.64, down .36 percent; the bank component fell .53 percent to 1,294.19, while the insurance stocks stood at 1,496.93, down .56 percent.
