      Shekel, Euro, Pound Down; Dollars Up

      The official value of the shekel declined an average of .339 percent, Friday, against most of the other currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.504, up .516 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro edged up .094 percent to 4.7775 shekels.

      The pound sterling was set at 5.7609 shekels, down .061, while 100 Japanese yen climbed 1.518 percent to NIS 3.3574. The Australian dollar jumped 2.022 percent to NIS 3.1486, while its Canadian counterpart was fixed at 3.2936 shekels, up .642 percent, and the South African rand rose .701 percent to .3303 shekels.
