      Kerry Lands in Israel

Secretary of State John Kerry of the United States landed, Thursday afternoon, at Ben Gurion International Airport and began making his way to Jerusalem for talks with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, to be followed by talks with Chairman Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority, in which Kerry is expected to try to get the two leaders to sign an American plan for a framework agreement and extend negotiations beyond the current nine-month schedule. No signature is expected although there was speculation about the sides signing within a number of days.

On Friday, Kerry is expected to meet with Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman and President Shim'on Peres.
