"Luxury Apartments Instead of Homes for Young Couples "

Member of Knesset Menachem Eliezer Moses decried a plan to build luxury condominiums marketed toward foreign investors as opposed to local young couples on Wednesday at a Knesset meeting. He lamented that the Schneller compound, a large historic site in central Jerusalem was to be turned into 2,000 units for young couples but now will be turned into 250 units advertised as "prestigious." He said the large number of luxury building projects would turn Jerusalem into a ghost town and force regular residents to leave for cheaper locales. He blamed the Jerusalem Municipality and the Israel Land Authority for the move.
