An American rock band that cancelled a concert in the wake of the Mavi Marmara flotilla incident has scheduled a concert in Israel this summer. Israeli music fans were anticipating the Pixies first visit to Israel in 2010 but were forced to accept refunds on their tickets when the group cancelled. Newsmedia released a statement from the group reading, "we'd like to extend our deepest apologies to the fans, but events beyond all our control have conspired against us. We can only hope for better days, in which we will finally present the long awaited visit of the Pixies in Israel." Now the band is back, with a tour date scheduled for June 17, 2014 at Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv. The American rock band Soundgarden will play one concert with them as well.
