Livni: Settlements Hurt, Don't Help Security

Justice Minister Tzipi Livni said, Monday morning, that Jewish communities beyond the 1949 Armistice Line are not a part of Israel's security but harm it, according to Kol Yisrael government radio.

Livni, who heads Israel's negotiations with the Palestinian Authority, strongly criticized Sunday's endorsement by the Ministerial Committee on Legislation of a bill to apply Israeli law to Jewish communities in the Jordan Valley. She said it was unthinkable during the negotiations that Israel tie its hands with delusional proposals.
