Bill: Moral Turpitude Means No Knesset Re-election

The Ministerial Committee on Legislation is scheduled to discuss, Sunday, a bill by Member of Knesset Moshe Mizrachi (Labor) which would make a Knesset member convicted of a crime that carries the label of moral turpitude ineligible for re-election.

Current law allows re-election seven years after the finishing of a sentence. It was recently illustrated in the case of Shas party chairman Aryeh Der'i.
