Finance Minister Yair Lapid and Health Minister Yael German announced, Thursday, the addition of NIS 570 million to the Health Ministry budget. Addressing reporters at Ziv (Sieff) Hospital in the central Galilee city of Tzfat (Safed), they said 360 will be split among four health funds to strengthen them financially with an additional 60 million to support the health funds' dental programs.
The remaining 150 shekels will be allocated to infrastructure and technology. Ziv is one of five hospitals in peripheral areas splitting NIS 45 million for MRI medical imaging. Forty million will be applied to a project to increase the sharing of information between hospitals and health funds and a program to equip hospitals. Ziv and cancer patients living north of Haifa will benefit from NIS 15 million in linear acceleration-based radiation therapy, and 10 million shekels will go to strengthen urgen-care facilities.
