North Korea on Friday threatened South Korea that it would "attack it without mercy and without notice." The threat was sent from Pyongyang to Seoul via fax.
The Defense Minister of South Korea told reporters that the fax was received on Thursday, following protests in Seoul against the North Koreans. South Korea, for its part, responded to the North Korean fax by saying that it would respond "sternly" to any attack against it.
