      Shekel, Dollars, Pound Up; Yen Outpaces Euro


      The official value of the shekel rose an average of .116 percent, Friday, against most of the feature currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.518, up .114 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro declined .239 percent to 4.796 shekels.

      The pound sterling was set at 5.7516 shekels, down .097 percent, while 100 Japanese yen fell .193 percent to NIS 3.3673. The Canadian dollar rose .494 percent to NIS 3.2934 while its Australian counterpart was fixed at 3.1191 shekels, up .148 percent, and the South African rand lost .795 percent to NIS .3369.
