MK Kalfa Demands Public Transportation Compensation

MK Zevulun Kalfa ( Jewish Home ) addressed the Minister of Transport Israel Katz requesting compensation for internal public transport users in Safed, Jerusalem and other cities where there were disruptions in public transport due to the storm.

Kalfa wrote his letter to the Minister because many lower class users of public transportation in recent days had to make use of taxis, an expense coming to NIS 100 or more per person per day. Some taxi drivers took advantage of the plight of passengers and demanded exorbitant prices for short trips.

MK Kalfa demands public transport users be compensated in the following way: Cash compensation for a receipt for a taxi ride during the storm and a month of free public transport in all affected areas (Jerusalem, Safed and elswhere ).
