The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange started Tuesday-morning with modest losses in mixed trading. About an hour into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,190.00, down .06 percent, while the TA 100 slipped .08 percent to 1,191.20, including a loss of a quarter of a percent to 1,325.42 by the TA 26 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 991.56, up .32 percent.
Leading the gainers was most of the technology index, which rose .98 percent to 325.15, while the biomed issues stood at 988.94, up .03 percent, and the communications stocks advanced .97 percent to 773.06. The oil and natural-gas index stood at 1,242.04, down .04 percent, and the real-estate issues declined .15 percent to 369.54. The insurance stocks stood at 1,479.12, down .51 percent as the financial institutions fell .68 percent to 1,250.59, including a loss of .84 percent to 1,298.20 by the bank index.
