      Police Fail to Tell Parents of Son's Arrest


      The Vice President of the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court Judge Avraham Rubin ordered the police to pay the family of an arrested minor. The underage youth was accused of entering a closed military zone. A friend who was arrested as well, was accused of assaulting a police officer. Both were released without being charged.

      The boy filed a tort claim for false arrest and failure to inform his parents of his arrest, stated attorney Itamar Ben Gvir. The judge rejected the first claim but agreed that the police were at fault for failing to inform the parents as required by law. The judge ordered the police to pay the plaintiff compensation in the amount of 2,000 NIS and 1,000 NIS more attorneys' fees.
