Ya'alon: No Tolerance for Violations on Any Border

Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon reacted, Monday morning, to Sunday night's shooting death of soldier Shlomi Cohen near the Lebanese border by a Lebanese Army sniper by holding the government of Lebanon and the Lebanese Army responsible for what happens on their side of the border.

Ya'alon said liaison officers from Israel and Lebanon would meet with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon to clarify the details of the incident, adding, "We will demand an explanation from the Lebanese Army exactly what happened and if it really was a wayward soldier, what they did with him and what the Lebanese Army plans to do to prevent actions such as this. We will not tolerate violations of our sovereignty along any border, and certainly not the Lebanese border."
