Manslaughter Plea Bargain in Lior Farchi Death

Arkan Badir of the Israeli Arab village of Kafr Kassem was convicted of manslaughter, Monday morning, by the Central District Court as part of a plea bargain in the hit-and-run death of Security Coordinator Lior Farchi of Sha'arei Tikva, not far from the western Shomron Samarian community in the summer of 2012. Badir was also convicted of attempting to transport residents of the Palestinian Authority (PA) who were illegally in other parts of Israel, of leaving the scene after hitting someone and of obstructing justice.

Badir was convicted of running over Farchi while in the process of transporting Arabs who had left the PA through a breach in the Shomron security fence near the Oranit checkpoint. He was originally charged with murder.
