      Mandatory-Car-Insurance Premiums Down 40% Since 2000


      The Capital Market, Insurance and Savings Branch of the Finance Ministry released figures, Tuesday, that show insurance premiums for owners of private vehicles went down 40 percent since the reform of compulsory car insurance went into effect in 2000. Drivers saved about 15 billion shekels in insurance premiums between 2000 and 2012.

      Premiums for mandatory vehicle insurance went down an additional 2.2 percent in 2012.
