General (reserves) Aryeh Levi, whose last active function was as head of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Technology and Logistics Branch, passed away, Tuesday, at the age of 81. During a military career that ran from 1950 to 1978, he saw action in the Sinai Campaign of 1956 and the Six Day War of 1967 in the Artillery Corps, after which he was appointed commander of the IDF Artillery School. In 1971 he was named the head artillery officer and on the Eve of the Yom Kippur War in 1973, he was appointed Assistant Chief of the Operations Branch. As head of the Technology and Logistics Branch, he oversaw its rehabilitation following the war, dealing not only in equipment but the organization of personnel.
Levi will receive a full military funeral, starting at 15:00 in the Kiryat Shaul military cemetery in Tel Aviv. Six generals will act as pall bearers.
