"Fruits and Vegetables are Inexpensive in Israel"
Secretary-General of the Israeli Farmers' Union, Avshalom Vilan related to the discussion of the Food Law proposal in the Knesset Economic committee Monday, "The law is a big step towards lowering Israeli food prices. Regulation and limitation must be imposed on supermarkets in order to control pricing. Cutting farmers' profits is not the solution, as their prices for fruits and vegetables are among the lowest in the world. The retailers, on the other hand raise their profit margin at the expense of consumers."
