Psychological Assessment for Armed Security Guards

The Knesset Interior Committee discussed on Monday the recent law proposal to require psychological assessment for security guards applying for a license to carry weapons, and to deny such positions to anyone charged in the past with violent felonies.

Committee Chairwoman MK Miri Regev (Likud Beytenu) explained, "There have been numerous cases of recent violent crimes committed by personnel licensed to bear arms in line of their duty, and this proposal aims to prevent such events in the future."
