Report: PA Won't Agree to Delay in Prisoner Release

A spokesman for Chairman Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority said, Monday morning, that the PA will not agree to a delay in the third round of security-prisoner releases, according to Kol Yisrael government radio. If there is no delay, the releases are scheduled for about three weeks from now.

PA Prisoner-Affairs Minister Issa Karaka said that although there was no confirmation to reports of the postponement, there was American pressure in that direction. He claimed that during US Secretary of State John Kerry's visit, last week, Abbas told Kerry that he refused to accept the proposal and made it clear that the matter would negatively affect negotiations with Israel.
