Residents Protest J'm, Bnei Brak Rain Non-Preparedness

Residents of Jerusalem and the Tel Aviv suburb of Bnei Brak complained, Sunday, about their cities' preparation for the weekend rains, in the wake of the resulting flooding.

Residents of Bnei Brak told Arutz Sheva that the city resembled a little Venice and took the municipality to task for not addressing drainage problems. Chairman Ha'im Miller of the Movement for Jerusalem and its Residents said that the movement's switchboard has received hundreds of calls in the last 24 hours regarding what he called the lack of organization by the city and the Gihon water company, explaining that the city did not clean the drainage system despite media notice of the oncoming rains. He called on officials of the city and the water company to go out in the field and check the problems.
