      Euro Up - Shekel Outpaces Dollars, Pound and Yen

      The official value of the shekel declined an average of .033 percent, Friday, in mixed trading against the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar as fixed at NIS 3.517, down .199 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro rose .28 percent to 4.8031 shekels.

      The pound sterling was set at 5.7471 shekels, down a quarter of a percent, while 100 Japanese yen fell .301 percent to NIS 3.4428. The Australian dollar slipped .047 percent to NIS 3.1843, while its Canadian counterpart was fixed at 3.3004 shekels, down .188 percent, and the South African rand lost .238 percent to .3357 shekels.
