Ministers to Discuss Equal Representation for Hareidim

The Ministerial Committee for Legislation will discuss on Sunday a bill by MK Meir Porush (United Torah Judaism), which will stipulate that hareidi-religious Israelis will have proper representation be in the public sector, thus encouraging the hareidi public to study in institutions of higher education and join the labor market.

Porush explained that the hareidi population in Israel is suffering from discrimination and a built-in difficulty in entering the job market in general and the public sector in particular. An example of this, he said, is the dozens of young hareidim who completed their law studies in recent years but have had difficulties finding employment despite their meeting the criteria for available jobs.
